Shirley Temple, iconic child star, dies at 85

Shirley Temple was a nationwide sensation, as a child star. Mothers dressed
their little girls like her, and a line of dolls was launched. The dolls are now highly
 sought-after as collectables.
Her immense popularity prompted President Franklin D. Roosevelt to say......
"As long as our country has Shirley Temple, we will be all right." "She's indelible in the history of America because she appeared at a time of great social need, and people took her to their hearts," the late Roddy McDowall.... a fellow child star and friend is quoted as saying. Gone, but not to be forgotten. Perhaps a new audience will now discover what a star she truly was. Films preserved for the future generation are here for us today.
