Episode VII

undefined on Disney Video

Yes, there is finally a date of release for episode VII in the Star Wars Saga!
Star Wars.... The Force Awakens
opens in theaters December 18, 2015.

I will be there to watch it if the crowds aren't too bad. Are you going? There is nothing that
surpasses that big screen and sound system....
 of a theater presentation.

The original film series began with Star Wars, released on May 25, 1977.

I was in California at the time and thought I would go check out this new flick, everyone was talking about.
I was astounded by the the lines that extended for blocks on end of people waiting to see the movie.
Do you know how long a California block can be?

It was a long while before it died down enough and I was able to make it to the show. There were those that would promptly walk out the exit door, and get right back in line for a ticket for the very next show.

I recall the nightly news reporters interviewing some that had watched it hundreds of times. Bear in mind....the average adult theater ticket price in 1977 across America was $2.23
(According to Box Office Mojo)

Star Wars Episode IV... Lucas Film 20th Century Fox went on to be that years highest grossing film, with domestic gross sales of $307,364,857.00
Not bad for a kids flick  that only cost $11,000,000.00

The movie started slowly, with only 31 theaters to show the film on opening day across the USA.
That sure changed fast, once the theater owners caught on to just how huge the film was destined to be.

Star Wars brought the advancement of Surround Sound to the big screen but only certain movie theaters could play it....at the time. Truely blowing the ears and the minds of those who sat watching. You just have to understand just how big a change this all was. Man it was big!
It earned $460,998,000.00 in the United States and $797,900,000.00 worldwide.
